See ya later, 2019!

Hello all you vintage vixens! 2019 has been a wild ride, and there were some amazing things that went down around here!

Let’s go back, shall we?

January 2019 was a great month because of, well…beer. Yes, beer. We brought our Athabasca Canoe down to the Shoe & Canoe Public House in downtown Calgary and they FILLED it full of beer. It was one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen, and I’ve never felt so Canadian as I did in that moment.

We also brought some elegance to a local rap artist’s music video when they needed an antique white sofa, so you know our lovely Ankerite delivered just what they needed! Did you see Ankerite around this year? She also made it to a few weddings, and some adorable fall family photo sessions!

We introduced our Mountain Arch this year, and you ladies LOVED it! In fact, you guys & gals loved it so much that I quickly had to build a second arch to keep up with our bookings. We brought this hefty gal around to a few shows, so you might have seen our triple peaked beauty at the Wedding Fair in January, the Chef’s Dinner at Rockin’ R Ranch in April, or the Bridal Expo in September.

We collaborated with some amazing vendors this year as well! Some I can show you, like our Modern Terracotta Inspiration Shoot we did in May that was FEATURED in Style Me Pretty (check it out HERE), or the Rosé & Croquet event at the historic Dean House. Others are still under wraps since they are out for publication, but as soon a I get the go-ahead you know you’ll get all the deets!

Our wedding season started with a gusto in March and went straight through to our last wedding in November. Two of our weddings so far have been highlighted on Confetti Wedding Magazine’s Real Weddings section! You can check out Keelaina & Nathan’s laid-back rustic wedding HERE featuring our oh-so popular Mountain Arch, or you can swoon over Brittany & Brandon’s farm chic day with our Ankerite Sofa HERE.

Even with how busy we’ve been this wedding season, my hubby and I still managed to sneak off to the mountains for a few days of getting back to nature for our anniversary in September. We grabbed the dog, enough firewood for a week, hooked up our 1972 Boler named Sweet Pea, and headed off to lose ourselves in the Alberta wilderness. Sometimes a girl just has to get out of cellphone service range, you know? And yes, we have a vintage caravan. I LIVE vintage here, people.

September must have been our month of love, because on top of our anniversary trip a friend of mine asked me to take her engagement photos…and they brought their furkids! I’ll be doing a full blog post on their Boho wanderlust inspired engagement shoot so you can get all the warm fuzzies, but for now I’ll drop a lil’ sneak peek for you below.

We topped off the year highlighting our Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree photo sets – check out all the little sweet cheeks giggling it up on our Azurite Settee during their family sessions HERE. If you want to get in for next year, you’ll want to get in early ‘cause girl, this is the year that you get your Christmas cards sent out ON TIME with a picture perfect photo of your adorable little family on the front. Eat your heart out, Janet. Who's the mommy with the most now? We’ll be opening up bookings very early in Fall 2020 for this years photo sessions, so mark your calendar.

2019 was a whirlwind, and if I have anything to say about 2020…it’s going to be a hurricane! I have so many things to be grateful for (like meeting and working with so many amazing clients and fellow industry professionals), and so many things to look forward to (like the return of The Bachelor, yessss)!

Yours in vintage,

Lindsay
