Blue & Copper Inspiration Shoot - Featured in Confetti Wedding Magazine
There is something in the crisp cool air during a winter wedding in the mountains…something just a wee bit magical.
The outside landscape may have been chilly during this inspiration shoot but we were tucked away warm and cozy by the striking river rock fireplace here at The Crossing nestled along the banks of the Ghost River.
Kate of Kate Colman Weddings brought a discerning eye for style when she envisioned this winter inspiration shoot which pulled in cool blues & whites reminiscent of the surrounding river waters to create an overarching seasonal story. These wintery hues were warmed with pops of copper, creating an atmosphere of cozy elegance.
In true RARE Vintage form, we brought the blue big time…like, couch-sized big! Our lovely Azurite Settee gives our brides the full package for all their ‘something borrowed, something blue, something old, something new’ needs on their wedding day, and we were so in love with how cozy our couple looked tucked up on the sofa next to the roaring fire.
Florals from Brilliant Blooms brought all the blues nature has to offer, and we loved the inclusion of thistle as a totally unique textural element to the bouquet. The rich cobalt hues and copper accenting on the cake by The Cake Bake Shoppe brought decadence and elegance, and the subtle details and texture in the design really stood out against the simple pure white of our milk glass cake pedestal. Stationary from Pink Umbrella Designs emphasized frosty winter vibes to make any Rocky Mountain-bound bride swoon.
The bride/model glowed with old Hollywood glamour thanks to gorgeous hair and dramatic makeup worthy of a classic film starlet provided by Hair Design by Jess and Makeup by Jamie Lee. A jewel encrusted hairpin with vintage flair and a breath-taking gown from Embrace Bridal completed the bride’s look, and a fur coat from B&B Clothing Boutique kept this loved-up couple cozy warm. The groom’s navy suit was provided by Suit-ed Menswear and was a perfectly stylish pair for the bride’s elegant lace dress.
Kaycee Ann Photography captured all these elegant features in the following stunning images. Not only did Kaycee have an amazing eye for detail, but she kept us in smiles and stiches all day with her infectious humour and positive attitude!
